FFXIV Arkasodara Tribal Quests Guide: Unlock Quest, Hippo Cart Mount, and Wind-Up Minion

FFXIV-Arkasodra-Tribal-Quests

The Arkasodara of Thavnair are the focus of the latest Tribal Quests in Final Fantasy XIV, and these friendly elephant people will reward you with a new mount and minion if you complete enough of their daily chores. Despite the new name, “Tribal Quests” are the exact same as the Beast Tribe quests that came before them. The FFXIV development team just felt that the quests needed a new name as they expand to new factions and creatures. That means you’ll have new quests available for the Arkasodara every day, and completing this will increase your reputation and lead to unique rewards. Here’s how to get started with the Arkasodara Tribal Quests in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.15.

How to Start Arkasodara Tribal Quests in Final Fantasy XIV

Unlocking the Arkasodara Tribal Quests requires you to complete a level 80 quest in Thavnair called “Hippos Born to Run.” However, starting this quest is easier said than done, as it requires you to complete several other side quests in the Thavnair zone before you can access it. This unlock process is similar to the one for the Moogle quests in Heavensward or the Namazu quests in Stormblood if you’ve done those. Get ready to spend a while grinding.

Arkasodara Tribal Quests Prerequisites

Before you can begin the Arkasodara Tribal Quests, you must complete the level 85 main scenario questUnder His Wing,” which takes place roughly halfway through the Endwalker expansion. There are two side quests chains in Thavnair that must also be completed before you can start unlocking the proper Arkasodara Tribal Quests. The first chain of quests begins with “Steppe Child” in Yedlihmad (X: 25.6, Y: 36.1) and the second starts with “What’s in a Parent” in Palaka’s Stand (X: 29.2, Y: 15.3).

There are four quests in each chain, totaling 8 side quests in all.  Now that they’re involved with the Arkasodara Tribal Quests as of Patch 6.15, they are marked with the blue unlock icon. You can see the starting locations for each quest chain on the map below.

  • After you complete both side quest chains, you will unlock a new quest called “A Budding Adventure” that can be obtained from Yezahn in Palaka’s Stand (X: 29.6, Y: 17.2). This quest ties both chains together and serves as a finale to the major side quests of Thavnair. After finishing that quest, you can finally accept “Hippos Born to Run” from Kancana in Thavnair (X: 25.3, Y: 31.2) to start the Arkasodara Tribal Quests.

How to Get the Hippo Cart Mount

With the Arkasodara Tribal Quests unlocked, you can now undertake daily missions for battle jobs that are level 80 or higher. Completing daily quests will reward you with a special currency called Arkasodara Pana, which can be spent to unlock new Arkasodara-themed rewards.

One such reward is the Hippo Cart mount, which can be purchased for 18 Arkasodara Pana. You need to level up your reputation with the Arkasodara tribe before you’re allowed to purchase it though, so make sure you complete as many quests as you can each day to increase your standing. Tribal mounts typically require the Sworn rank to purchase, which takes 63 completed daily quests to reach.

How to Get the Wind-Up Arkasodara Minion

The Wind-Up Arkasodara minion is another highlight of the available Arkasodara rewards. It can be purchased from a vendor named Ghanta (X: 20.4, Y: 28.4) for 8 Arkasodara Pana after reaching the Trusted rank with the Arkasodara tribe. Reaching the Trusted rank requires 510 points, so you’ll need to complete a few daily quests first. Earning enough points for the Trusted rank will unlock a new quest called ” A Pachyderm’s Promptitude,” which must be completed in order to rank up.

Final Fantasy XIV is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
